Local Government Budgeting
From July 2020 until October 2023, I worked on and managed a budgeting team for a local government agency called Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA). They provided public transit service to Pinellas County.
The annual budgeting process involves a lot, but the biggest task every year was developing the annual budget. Below are links to 4 annual budget books I was a part of preparing. All 4 were passed by the PSTA Board of Directors while I worked there and all 4 earned the Government Finance Officers Associations (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
Through the years we made steady improvements to the budget book. This involved small esthetics changes as well as larger changes that involved updating how we communicated the organizations strategic planning.
